Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a debris/cut end pile burning at the Stella Jones site at 7177 Pacific Street in the BCR late Sunday afternoon.
The fire was approximately 100 x 50 feet in diameter with flames 40-50 feet in height and was visible from many parts of the city.
Two apparatus and four firefighters were part of the initial response and were later assisted by two more apparatus and five more firefighters. Crews worked into the night to extinguish the stubborn fire.
No firefighters or Stella Jones staff were injured. Cause and damage estimates are yet to be determined.
