Joseph Donald West was issued the term by provincial court judge Michael Gray on Wednesday.

Terrance Abraham Johnson was also arrested following the early-morning incident on Nov. 19 and is next scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 11 to fix a date for trial.

Police reported at the time that two masked men entered the restaurant at about 3 a.m. brandishing a machete and a large kitchen knife and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the till and from a waitress before fleeing in a stolen pickup truck.

West, who had credit for 26 days time served prior to sentencing, was given the sentence for one count of robbery.
