The Canadian Diabetes Association, Northern Region will hold an information session on Camp Kakhamela on Saturday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the board room at 490 Quebec St. Established in 1962, this one-of-a-kind scenic camp located in Gibsons, B.C., provides children seven to 16 years with diabetes self-management tools in a safe and fun environment.

The Canadian Diabetes Association subsidizes the actual cost for campers by more than half the cost, lessening the burden on families already enduring high medical expenses.

Boyanne Young, northern region branch coordinator, said, "This information session will provide details of the camp experience and we will discuss ways to make sure transportation is not a burden to prevent a child from attending camp. For more information call CDA at 250-561-9284.
