A Prince George man who was bitten by a police dog when he fled from a police-attempted arrest Sunday has been identified as 29-year-old Jesse Dayton Lockhart.
Known by police to be an associate of the Independent Soldiers street gang, Lockhart was chased by police for his alleged participation in a group fight at Quebec Street and Third Avenue.
When Lockhart fled, a foot chase ensued through the CN Rail yard. Lockhart, who was arrested with assistance of a police dog within about a half hour, faces charges of escape of lawful custody, obstruction of a peace officer, and he also had an outstanding warrant for assault causing bodily harm.
