Update: Power restored to Downtown Prince George following afternoon outage

Power has been restored to 317 B.C. Hydro customers in downtown Prince George after an outage Sunday, afternoon. The outage was caused by an object on B.C. Hydro wires and affected the south part of Victoria Street, West of Ash Street, north of Porter Ave and east of Alward Street.

BC Hydro crews attended the scene and restored power at 3:11 p.m. 

2:06 p.m.

Crews are currently on-site working on restoring power to nearly 317 BC Hydro customers in downtown Prince George.

B.C. Hydro is reporting the outage was caused by an object on the wires but expects service to be returned by 4:00 p.m. 

The areas affected include the south part of Victoria Street, West of Ash Street, north of Porter Ave and east of Alward Street.

Nearly 317 customers in downtown Prince George are without power afternoon, Sunday, Dec. 9, after an outage reported by B.C. Hydro.

Areas affected include the south part of Victoria Street, West of Ash Street, north of Porter Ave and east of Alward Street. The cause is apparently an object on the power lines, according to the B.C. Hydro website.

The cause of the outage, which was first reported at 1:46 p.m., is currently under investigation.
