Duplex fire on Quince Street caused $80,000 in damage

Heavy smoke and flames were coming from one half of a duplex in the 2200 block of Quince Street on Friday afternoon.

Prince George Fire Rescue responded with crews from three halls to the 1200 square-foot duplex fire, a release issued Monday morning said.

Arriving crews protected neighbouring homes from exposure to the flames and then attacked the involved structure.

Crews contained the fire to the involved half of the duplex causing minor water damage to the uninvolved unit.

All occupants of both units made it out safely. There were no injuries reported.

Estimated damage is $80,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
