Photos: Getting it fixed at the Repair Cafe

Local volunteers and members of UNBC's Spark Lab were successful in 11 of 16 attempted repairs.

Members of Eco Living Community (ELC) held a Repair Cafe: Small Appliances And Textiles Saturday at Prince George Public Library. The Repair Cafe running from 1:30PM to 3:30PM uses volunteers to attempt to fix items brought in by the public.

In all 16 repairs were attempted on items including laptops, microwaves, lamps, jackets, and drapes, with 11 being successfully fixed.

Members of UNBC's Spark Lab were available to try to solve problems and brought a 3D printer to assist in repairs.

An electronics repair specialist, seamstresses and Fibre Arts Guild members were on hand to help and to teach people how to conduct their own repairs.

Therewill be more Repair Cafes on future dates to be determined.
