The search is over for an inmate who escaped from a work crew Friday morning.

Prince George RCMP were searching for Randy Ray Henricks, 38, who has a history of property and weapons related offences and is considered violent.

Police received a call shortly before 11:45 a.m. Friday from Prince George Regional Correctional Centre advising that one of their inmates had escaped. Henricks was working in the area of 4th Avenue near Toronto Street when he fled on foot.

Henricks was arrested later the same day at a city residence, without incident.

On Oct. 15, Henricks, who is from Saskatchewan, was sentenced to four months in jail and two years probation for dangerous driving and flight from a peace officer. He was also issued a two-year driving prohibition for the incident which occurred two days before.
