Fall bus service changes coming to Prince George

Schedule to be adjusted for return of in-person secondary schools

BC Transit is announcing some service changes to the Prince George Transit System starting Sept. 6.

Schedule adjustments will be implemented on a number of routes throughout the transit system to meet the expected fall increase in service demands, which included return to in-person learning for post-secondary students.

This includes:

  • Reintroduction of K-12 school trips on the 12 Parkridge, 96 Shas-ti/Kelly via N. Nechako and 97 Shas-ti/Kelly via Highway 97
  • Reintroduction of additional trips on 15 Downtown/UNBC and 55 Victoria
  • Additional peak trips on the 88 Westgate and 89 Hart
  • Routing change to the 91 Spruceland/Hart

The route 1 Heritage loop trips currently operating via Fifth Avenue and Ospika Boulevard will be renumbered to route 11. In addition, routes 17 UNBC and 18 Spruceland will not be reinstates this service change.

Free transit for children ages 12 and under also launches this fall, starting Sept. 1.
