The Fibre Arts Guild Pop Up is at Studio 2880 until 4 pm. today.
These artisans have unique items suited for everyone including whimsical hats for pets, tabletop gnomes, mice slippers and felted mittens that look more works of art, and I guess that’s what they are, wearable art.
Kelly Waller came by with her partner to check out the fingerless gloves along with the shawls, felted purses, scarves and the skeins of yarn ready for the adventurous to take on a project.
“I really like hand-knitted stuff and not too many people have that kind of thing,” Waller said.
“We like to support local arts and crafts vendors and come and see what people have actually made. It’s important to support local.”
Handmade one-of-kind items are so important when it comes to gift giving, Waller added.
“I feel like it’s more personal when you find something that you know someone needs or would like a lot and it’s something not everyone has,” Waller said.
