Final results in for Cariboo-Prince George

Official results for the Cariboo-Prince George race in the federal election are now available. According to Elections Canada, Conservative Todd Doherty won the riding Monday night with 19,688 votes, which was 36.6 per cent of ballots cast.

Official results for the Cariboo-Prince George race in the federal election are now available.

According to Elections Canada, Conservative Todd Doherty won the riding Monday night with 19,688 votes, which was 36.6 per cent of ballots cast.

In order of votes earned, the other candidates:

Tracy Calogheros (Liberal): 16,921 votes (31.5 per cent)

Trent Derrick (NDP): 13,879 votes (25.8 per cent)

Richard Jaques (Green): 1,860 votes (3.5 per cent)

Sheldon Clare (independent): 657 votes (1.2 per cent)

Gordon Campbell (unaffiliated): 402 votes (0.7 per cent)

Adam De Kroon (Christian Heritage): 327 votes (0.6 per cent)

Voter turnout in the riding reached 68.9 per cent (53,590 votes out of 78,356 electors) and there were 216 rejected ballots. The 2015 showing is a marked jump from the last federal election in 2011, where the Cariboo-Prince George turnout was 58 per cent.

Results for the Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies riding have not yet been made official.

Returning officers have seven days in which to validate the numbers.
