A Crescents neighbourhood home's garage went up in flames Friday afternoon but Prince George Fire Rescue members were able to prevent the blaze from taking out the house.
In all 17 firefighters from three halls were called to the scene at 3 p.m. They found the garage, which extended into the back side of the home, fully engulfed. The blaze was quickly knocked down as were the flames found at the rear of the home.
The fire did cause $70,000 damage but no one was hurt. The home's lone occupant met firefighters outside.
