A neighbour pitched in to help after a stack of shingles went up in flames in the backyard of a home on the 2100 block of Oak Street early on the morning of Friday, March 21.
Prince George Fire Rescue sent crews from two halls to the scene at dawn and worked as the fire spread to a nearby fence and temporary carport.
The firefighters got it under control quickly. Meanwhile, a neighbour aimed his hose over a fence to add to the effort.
Nobody was hurt. Damage is estimated at $10,000, and the fire is under investigation.
