Whether you like to go for your coffee in the morning, afternoon or evening, these coffee shops are sure to satisfy.
Here are our top five places to grab a cup of joe:
Play Grounds Cafe – If you need a coffee badly and you have kids (or you may need a coffee because of the kids), Play Grounds Cafe is the place to go.
The cafe is exactly what the title describes. There is a 2,000-square-foot, sock-only play area that is designed for children ages zero to six.
The cafe itself has a variety of baked goods (fresh, of course), home-style soups, locally roasted coffee and nutritious choices for the kids.
Play Grounds Cafe is open Monday to Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m; Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The play space opens at 9 a.m.
You can visit them at 1790 Quinn St.
Ohh Chocolat Cafe – Who doesn't like chocolate? Not only can you have a cup of coffee and some breakfast, you can watch Chocolatiers create chocolates.
Breakfast, lunch and treats and desserts are all available (we're drooling just reading their menu).
You can indulge your sweet tooth Monday to Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 565 George St.
Books and Company – Calling all bookworms! The cafe isn't purely just reading material – there's something for everybody. There is storytime for children on Saturdays, connected conversations each month and Friday Night Mics.
But for those interested in finding a great read, Books and Company has a great selection for any taste. So grab a coffee and find your next great read.
Books and Company is located at 165 Third Ave. It's open Monday to Wednesday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ritual Coffee Bar – Modern aesthetics of Scandinavian design collided with the rugged Central Interior of B.C. Doesn't that sound intriguing?
The bar services brunch daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The coffee menu features all the classics in an exquisite environment.
You can find Ritual Coffee Bar at 101-1085 Third Ave. They are open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Magel's Cafe – Prepare to be wowed. Most people are familiar with bubble tea, right? Well, how about warm bubble tea? Interesting, to say the least.
Magel's offers delicious drinks, like a mango fruit milk tea with tapioca pearls and mango star jellies (have you ever heard of such a fun beverage?). Other flavours include earl grey milk tea, black milk tea and matcha milk tea.
If tea isn't quite your preferred taste, Magel's also serves drinks like strawberry lemonade and honeydew milk slush.
If you prefer a non-dairy option, there are almond milk and soy milk options.
