The City of Prince George has announced Foodie Fridays will be returning to the Canada Games Plaza starting next Friday, July 19 and going until Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with live music featured during the lunch hour.
Last year, the city says there were more than 5,000 visits to the event.
However, starting in 2020, Foodie Fridays will be moving to the city's new downtown park, Wood Innovation Square, which is close to being completed on 5 Ave.
The park is set to official open later this summer.
Foodie Fridays were previously held in front of city hall but had to be moved due to construction.
“The idea was first brought to the attention of City staff by local businesses wishing to add a new dimension to the City’s downtown to complement our already fantastic restaurants and cafés,” Jen Rubadeau, Civic Events Coordinator says in a release. “Foodie Fridays helps to make use of our fantastic downtown outdoor venues, and give the thousands of people who work in the area, as well as residents and tourists, a pleasant, social, outdoor place to go for a casual lunch.”
If you are a food truck operator, restaurant operator, or licensed food vendor and are interested in participating, you are asked to contact Jen Rubadeau at 250-614-7880, or [email protected].
