Fort St. James RCMP were called to David Hoy Elementary School at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning after receiving “a serious and specific threat directed to the school.”

RCMP officers evacuated the school and conducted a thorough search of the building, an RCMP statement issued on Tuesday said.

“Investigators have now determined that there was not a legitimate threat and the school has been deemed safe for teachers and students to return,” the police statement said. “We thank the public for your patience and cooperation.”
