The Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society of Prince George will be hosting an Anti-Racism Forum on Saturday afternoon.
The forum will bring together community leaders to discuss the impact of racism and discrimination in our society and the solutions.
"We believe that it is important to have these conversations and work together to create a more just and equitable world," said Ravi Saxena, Executive Director of IMSS.
The forum will feature keynote speaker Kasari Govender, BC Human Rights Commissioner, as well as a panel discussion with local activists and community leaders.
"We're excited to bring together such a diverse group of people to discuss these important issues," said Saxena. "We hope that this forum will be the start of a larger conversation and lead to real change in our community."
Mayor Simon Yu and Mable Elmore, Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-Racism Initiatives, will be speaking at the event as well.
The forum is open to the public by prior registration. For those interested in attending, please register by emailing Saxena at [email protected] on or before 12 pm, Friday.
The event will take place at the House of Ancestors on 355 Vancouver St. beginning with registration at 12:15, free lunch from 12:30 to 1 p.m. and forum from 1 to 4 p.m.
