A GoFundMe has been set up for a Prince George woman who was killed in the fatal Highway 97 accident yesterday, south of Prince George.

A friend confirms to PrinceGeorgeMatters that Madeline Kozoris passed away in the single-vehicle incident 20 km north of Quesnel.

She is survived by her mother Tammy, her father Jeff and siblings Olivia and Phoenix.

The fundraiser was organized to help the family financially during the time of grieving as Tammy is the owner of Takozo Collies and Grooming and will not be able to work for the foreseeable future.

"There will be funeral costs and many other unexpected expenses, along with needing to survive while greaving," The GoFundMe reads. "Please donate anything you can. If everyone they know sent $5, it would amount to enough to help with many financial stressors still to come, so please don't hesitate to contribute what you are able to."

The male driver in the single-vehicle collision was taken to hospital in serious but non-life threatening condition, according to Cpl. Mike Halskov with RCMP ‘E’ Division Traffic Services.

"Loss of a child is the most unfathomable heartache a parent could ever encounter," the GoFundMe page continues. "Let's surround this family with love. Rest in peace beautiful Maddy."

As of 10:30 a.m. this morning (July 9), $6,439 has been raised.
