An estimated $125,000 damage was wreaked when a fire broke out in the garage of a 2100-block MacDonald Avenue home Wednesday afternoon.
Called to the scene at 2 p.m., Prince George Fire Rescue arrived to find the building engulfed and resorted to a defensive position to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent homes and buildings.
A passerby had spotted the fire and told the home's residents. There were no injuries.
"The fire was extinguished quickly but the structure was extremely damaged," PGFR assistant chief Denis Poulin said. "Crews remained on scene for approximately two hours putting out hotspots."
Cause of the fire remained unknown as of late Wednesday afternoon.
