Nearly 30 customers were affected when a line carrying natural gas was struck in the Hart Highlands early Tuesday afternoon.

FortisBC spokesman Trevor Wales said a third party was responsible for the strike on Berwick Drive near Highland Drive and Wallace Crescent. It left 28 households without service for the afternoon.

There have been at least three other strikes over the last two weeks in the city. Wales said gas line hits are more typical in the spring during the roadwork season.

He urged people to "call before you dig." Gas line locations can be confirmed by going to bconecall.ca or by calling 1-800-474-6886.
