Giant bomber joins northern fire fray

The giant Martin Mars water-bomber has been relocated to Fraser Lake west of Prince George to provide help in the hot fire zone south of Prince George.

The giant Martin Mars water-bomber has been relocated to Fraser Lake west of Prince George to provide help in the hot fire zone south of Prince George.

Normally located on Vancouver Island, the water bombers, (there are two of them) owned by Wayne Coulson, have been part of B.C.'s fire-fighting weapons for nearly five decades.

Coulson, president of the Port Alberni-based Coulson Group, bought the aircraft from forest company TimberWest Forest, and has been developing them as fire-fighting tool that can be used world-wide in battling wildfires
