On the same day work began on tearing down its predecessor, a celebratory and decidedly upbeat grand opening was held Friday at the new Duchess Park Secondary School.
Capped by the unveiling of a plaque commemorating the many involved in completing the $39-million project, the event featured a stream of upbeat speeches from MLAs, school district representatives and students themselves.
