Prince George City Hall.

The City of Prince George is offering a new grant to encourage non-profit agencies to hire people living on poverty.

For each person hired, an agency will be eligible for up to $4,000.

Employment opportunities range from arts projects and cleanup activities to providing advice to boards of directors and addictions peer support according to a lengthy but not exhaustive list according to program guidelines.

The city has received $40,000 from the Union of British Columbia Municipalities for the program, dubbed the Peers Employment and Encouraging Resiliency grant.

The grant was designed using feedback collected during a public engagement session hosted by the city and partners in October.

Those interested are asked to visit the city website for further information and to apply for a grant. The city is accepting applications until October 1, 2022.
