Firefighters were called out to a grass fire in the 8000 block of Otway Road early Friday morning, according to a statement issued by the Prince George Fire Rescue Service.
When crews arrived, shortly after 3 a.m., they found a large grass fire, four outbuildings and several pieces of heavy machinery on fire.
Crews from three fire halls were able to contain the fire to the property where it started. Explosions heard in the area were from machinery tires bursting. The fire took place on private property near the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club.
No one was injured in the fire, but the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
