Judging by the number of nominees for this year's version, interest in the Healthier You awards is growing.
In all, 67 people, businesses and organizations are on the list, up by 10 from last year.
Held to celebrate outstanding contributions towards health and wellness in the region, this year's gala is set for Friday, April 6 at the Ramada Downtown.
"It's truly inspirational, what people can actually do for our community," Citizen advertising director Cheryl Stewart said.
Members of the medical community are not the only ones who are up for the awards. For example, a local teenager who organized a summer basketball tournament has been nominated.
A full list of nominees, complete with biographies, will be featured in an upcoming issue of the Citizen.
Two categories have been added - workplace wellness and lifestyle transformation - raising the number to a dozen. Advocacy, innovation and education are among the other contributions celebrated.
Even if you're not a friend or co-worker of a nominee, Stewart said it's still worth attending.
"Come and hear what's happening in our community with healthcare, it's amazing," she said.
The gala is being put on by the Citizen in cooperation with Northern Health, MLA Shirley Bond and the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society.
Tickets are $55 and are available at the Citizen, 201-1777 Third Ave. (Second floor of the United Steelworkers building at Third and Winnipeg).
