With one of the biggest international sporting events making its way to Prince George in under one year, the organizing committee is in need of some helping hands.
Curling Canada is asking residents who want to get involved with the 2020 Women’s World Curling Championships, taking place March 14 to 22 at the CN Centre, to sign up as volunteers as applications are now open for various positions.
This includes everything from set-up to takedown, in-stand hosts to cashiers, bartending to bussing, and even acting as a media liaison.
There is a cost, however.
The fee for volunteering is $100, but according to a Curling Canada release, that will come with several gifts and perks, including:
- Official volunteer uniform & handbook
- Limited edition volunteer pin
- Access to the venue when not on shift (space permitting)
- Access to the Patch with live entertainment
- Invitation to the volunteer appreciation party
The 13-team tournament, which will include Team Canada as the host nation, will also host the world-famous Patch, a party zone with live music during the championships along with refreshments and food.
Interested participants to sign up as quickly as possible via Curling Canada’s website.
Tickets for the 2020 Women’s World Curling Championships have been up for sale since the middle of last month.
