The 2020 calendar, as weird as the year has been already, is set to bring several stat holidays for city workers in a week’s span.
Prince George garbage collection will be shifting by four days for the week of New Year’s and then three days afterwards, meaning some zones won’t see a truck in their neighbourhood for nearly two weeks.
As of Dec. 23 and 24, the College Heights-Beaverly-Blackwater blue zone’s and Foothills-North Nechako-Hart Highlands beige zone’s next collection days won’t be until Jan. 4 and 5.
Purple, green and orange zones will have garbage pick-up next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively (Dec. 29-31).
The new garbage collection dates are as listed below:
A reminder that glass is being accepted by city collectors.
Residential owners must place carts and recycling bins at least two metres apart for easy collection by 8 a.m., but no earlier than 4 a.m.
The City of Prince George also says it will not collect any overflowing carts and ask residents once more to ensure everything is contained to the cart with the lid completely closed.
