There’s been a few changes to restaurant hazard ratings reported last week by Northern Health.

Two of the three restaurants that had high hazard ratings most recently have achieved lesser ratings during follow up inspections.

China Taste, Edo Japan Spruceland and Red Robin had high hazard ratings.

Edo Japan Spruceland’s rating has been reduced to moderate as of Jan 30 that saw a critical for hot potentially hazardous food stored/displayed below 60 °C, critical repeat for equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition, and a repeat for food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition. The high hazard rating was earned during a routine inspection on Jan. 25, 2024.

Red Robin’s follow-up inspection sees them sitting at a low rating once again, a rating they have earned since inspections started as far back as Nov. 2019.

China Taste is listed as moderate on the Prince George page but clicking through to the inspection report shows a high hazard rating with no follow up inspection.

Along with Little Caesar’s, which earned a moderate rating three times between Dec. 18 and 22, 2023, Quizno’s Classic Subs on Central remains at moderate as a result of its most recent inspection on Jan. 25, 2024, and Ramen Yo Sendo remains at moderate as a result of their most recent inspection on Dec. 12, 2023.

The Jerky Factory earned a moderate hazard rating during an inspection on Jan. 30, 2024 for a critical infraction for cold potentially hazardous food stored/displayed above 4 °C, equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized, adequate handwashing stations not available for employees. Also noted during the inspection was food not protected from contamination and items not required for food premises operation being stored on the premises.
