Highway 97 is closed in both directions this afternoon (April 24) south of Prince George due to a washout.
Drive BC is reporting the incident nearly five kilometres outside of McLeese Lake, forcing a full road closure until further notice.
Commercial commuters are encouraged to use Highway 16 to Highway 5 as a detour if needed, while lighter passenger vehicles take Robertson Road around Soda Creek.
An assessment is in progress, but there's no estimated time of reopening.
We'll have more information as it becomes available.
