Prince George goes to the polls Nov. 19 to determine who will be their municipal leaders for the next three years.

In an effort to better inform the community on the 24 candidates running for a seat on Prince George municipal council, The Citizen sent out a form to all hopefuls with a series of questions that we hope will reveal their histories, priorities, qualifications and personalities.

Here are what they had to say.

Occupation(s) (past and/or present): Manager of the Hart Highway BC Liquor Store

Community involvement and contributions: In P.G., not yet would like to be involve at the council level when I get elected.

Other pertinent qualifications: I have been involved in Houston with the BVLD Air shed management Society, Historical Society, on the Chamber board, Library board and have also been involved with my church a bit ago as director.

What can you uniquely bring to the city? I bring with me some unique skills as a facilitator. I lead courses for the LDB in customer service, loyalty and respect in the work place.

I have an opportunity to continue the respectful relationships that I have created over the last 12 years with provincial ministries and Northern Health, create dialogue and hopefully see action as in more doctors in Prince George

Why are you running for council? I would like to reduce taxes, create better tax incentives for business and industry alike, I would like to put in place a city hall that has great customer service policies and training, I don't want, like every one else, to leave city hall with an unsatisfactory resolution to any issue.

What are your most pressing issues? Lower taxes, affordable housing and getting the good news of Prince George out to everyone of our citizens and the world, the Winter Games are around the corner our positive image has to be in place already, an image not only for the games but for everyone.

How do you propose to address those issues? Work hard, make plans and implement them, talk to the people in the know, they have the answers. I am not an expert at many things, they are the experts, listen, then work to accomplish great ideas.

What do you hope to accomplish in your three-year term should you be elected? Lower taxes, and a respectful user friendly City Hall. And with luck and hard work a lot more including an active love P.G. campaign already in motion. NB the slogan is not written in stone.
