City councillor Brian Skakun's trial has hit another roadblock as proceedings schedule for Friday were called off because Judge Ken Ball fell ill, reportedly from food poisoning.

Skakun is accused of violating provincial privacy legislation by allegedly leaking a confidential report on a personnel issue at the Prince George RCMP detachment to a media outlet two summers ago.

Heading into the trial, eight days of court time had been scheduled for the matter, four this recent week and another four starting Dec. 7, but Skakun's lawyer, Jon Duncan, said Friday it won't be enough.

So far, testimony has been heard from just four of the 18 witnesses Crown counsel has on its list.
