The Prince George Chamber of Commerce (PGCC) has a new President after its annual general meeting last night (June 25).
Kiel Giddens was voted to take the helm of the Board Executive after Lorna Wendling served the position for two years.
“Our new Board and the whole Chamber team are here to listen, and work on behalf of our members to help them thrive.” said Giddens in a news release.
“We’ve all taken the pledge to #SupportPG as we work to build a more resilient, compassionate, and prosperous community.”
Humbled to take on the role of @PGChamber1 President. We’ve got a great team and an amazing community to call home. I pledge to #SupportPG today and moving forward. Let’s roll up our sleeves and do our part to help #CityofPG biz thrive https://t.co/sfdqZUteEN

Giddens is the Public Affairs Manager for TransCanada Energy’s northern B.C. branch, where’s been working since 2014.
According to a 2018 Top 40 Under 40 report by Move Up Prince George, the 35-year-old was first appointed to the PGCC Board in 2015.
His resume also includes vice-president of the Prince George-Valemount BC Liberal Riding Association, member of the College of New Caledonia President’s Industry Council and also represented TransCanada on the Premier’s LNG Labour Working Group, when he was known to promote the hiring of local and Indigenous people on Liquid Natural Gas projects.
“While we are thankful to our past leaders, the team is excited to work with the new Board and Kiel Giddens as President,” said PGCC CEO Todd Corrigall.
“You can be assured that our advocacy efforts will be front and centre.”
