Patti Knezevic of Prince George helped Team B.C. to its sixth win of the week Thursday morning at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Playing third for the Kesa Van Osch's rink out of Victoria, Knezevic was scored at 83 per cent efficiency in a 7-3 victory over Newfoundland and Labrador. The win moves the Van Osch rink to 6-4 and keeps their playoff hopes alive at the national women's curling championship

Knezevic was added to the team as the fifth after Van Osch won the provincial title in Prince George last month, but she has seen significant playing time as illness has forced many players to miss games. She skipped the rink to a pair of wins on Tuesday when Van Osch was out, she played lead for one game on Wednesday, replacing Carley Sandwith and stepped in for third Stephanie Baier this morning.

The B.C. rink needs to win its final round robin game on Thursday evening against Saskatchewan (7-1) and hope that Alberta (7-3) loses to Manitoba (7-1). That would put the Van Osch team in a tiebreaker situation for the fourth and final playoff spot.

New Brunswick (5-4) can also win out and grab a tiebreaker berth if Alberta loses to Manitoba.

The round robin concludes on Friday morning and the playoffs, including tiebreakers if necessary, begin later Friday.
