A 51-year-old woman has been charged with several theft- and weapon-related offences after threatening employees at a Prince George dollar store.
Theresa Joseph was arrested Wednesday afternoon (March 10) at the 15th Avenue London Drugs after receiving a call of threats made to staff with a knife at the neighbouring Dollar Tree.
Around 3:30 p.m., a Loss Prevention Officer pointed to Joseph indicating she was also in the middle of a theft crime in London Drugs.
According to spokesperson Cst. Jennfer Cooper, Joseph is known to police and an investigation is still ongoing.
"Police arrested Ms. Joseph for theft and transported her to the Prince George RCMP Detachment where she remained until her first court appearance."
Joseph was found in possession of a folding knife, which matched a description provided by Dollar Tree staff of the one she used to threaten them.
The following charges have been approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service:
- Robbery
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon
- Uttering threats
- Obstruction of a Police Officer
