Lightning lock up Connolly

Local minor hockey product Brett Connolly was chosen by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round of the National Hockey League entry draft Friday in Los Angeles.

Local minor hockey product Brett Connolly was chosen by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round of the National Hockey League entry draft Friday in Los Angeles.

Connolly, an 18-year-old right winger for the Prince George Cougars, was picked sixth overall. The selection was made by the new general manager of the Lightning, hockey legend Steve Yzerman.
