Let someone else pay your mortgage for up to a year. A dream? No. It will be reality for one lucky Citizen reader during the 10-week Live Free For A Year contest, presented by the Prince George Citizen and Integris Credit Union beginning in Monday's newspaper.

"We are very excited to once again offer Prince George's premiere promotion contest with Integris Credit Union," said Hugh Nicholson, publisher. "We had up to half-a-million entries in last year's contest and we expect the same this year. Everyone loves to win something and readers have great odds of winning free mortgage payments or many of the weekly prizes. We are happy to provide this opportunity to the region."

There is more than $30,000 in prizes to be won over the next 10 weeks with the grand prize being mortgage or rent payments covered for a year up to $1,000 per month. If the contest winner has their mortgage paid off they will receive $750 each month.

"We are excited about our involvement in the Live Free contest because it provides the winners with the financial flexibility to pay down debt, save for the future or perhaps take that much-needed vacation," said Brian Bentley, chief executive officer of Integris Credit Union. "Our members and staff are proud to be part of an organization that helps families and contributes to stronger communities. Integris is a full-service financial institution offering banking, insurance and financial planning as well as award-winning member service. We are local, responsive to our communities and we exist to help people. On behalf of Integris members and staff, I wish all participants in the Live Free Contest - good luck."

Readers can also win mortgages and rent payments for six and three months, with many weekly prizes up for grabs by participating merchants.

Gifts certificates in amounts ranging between $325 and $1,000 can be won from Northern Hardware, Hart Home Hardware, Central Builders, Mainline Plumbing, Total Tops Bath and Kitchen, Eric's World of Leisure, Mr. G's, Michael's Jewellers, Direct Art, Tire Capital, ABC Communications, Visions Electronics, Wood Wheaton, PG Motors and Honda North.

Here is the list of winners since the contest started: 1998 Daryl and Jane Ritchey, 1999 Kevin Blood from Mackenzie, 2000 Donna Keown, 2001 Joe Wong, 2002 Todd and Amanda Hall from Mackenzie, 2003 Mike and Holly Klitch, 2004 Karen and Cameron Young, 2005 Bernice Smith from Fraser Lake, 2006 Sue and Ron Crosby from Mackenzie, 2007 Garry Madore and Kathy Adams, 2008 Arlene Morrison and 2009 Gordon Colebank.

Entry forms will be in The Citizen each day until Dec. 4. Simply fill out the form to qualify to win A prizes. To win B prizes you must obtain entry forms from Royal LePage open houses. Both the Citizen and Open House entry forms qualify participants to win the 12, six and three month mortgage prizes. Deliver the entries to branches of the Integris Credit Union in Prince George, Fort St. James, Quesnel, Vanderhoof or mail to Live Free, Box 5700, 150 Brunswick Street, Prince George, B.C., V2L 5K9 or drop entries at The Citizen office for your chance to win a share of more than $30,000 in cash and prizes. Entries may also be dropped off at any participating merchants, including Shoppers Foods in Mackenzie.

Draws will be made weekly beginning Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 5 p.m., with the final draw taking place Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2010. Full contest rules can be found every Thursday in The Citizen classifieds.
