The current COVID-19 pandemic has forced a lot of people to work from home and local musicians are no different.

Despite that breweries, pubs and regular venues have all temporarily closed it hasn’t stopped local artists, bands, and singer-songwriters from performing.

Local resident Andrew Heywood, who frequents open mics around town, created a Facebook group called PG Music Live where musicians can live stream their performances and audiences can easily find them.

Heywood says he observed local musicians posting live-streams of them performing and was inspired to create the group so the live streams would be easier to find.

“I wanted to create the group for a one-stop show where people could go and check out live musicians in town,” says Heywood. “It’s really hard for local musicians who can’t go out and perform. Everyone is really struggling to deal with this.”

If you’re interested in catching some local concerts from the comfort of your own home, or maybe performing from the comfort of your own home all you have to do is check out the group PG Music Live.

Heywood says he hopes there’s enough interest to have at least one performance a day.

Local Label Good Egg Records is also jumping on board hosting an online concert series called “Sunny Side Up” a Good Egg Records Concert Series which will take place throughout April.
