The Prince George London Drugs store remains closed due to a cyberattack Sunday that prompted the retail chain to close its 80 stores in Western Canada.
Pharmacists are currently working at the store’s Parkwood Mall location at 196-1600 15th Ave., but only to fill customers’ urgent prescription needs.
The store is unable to accept pharmacy requests through its automated system and advises customers to call other drugstores for information about prescribed medications.
London Drugs, in a social media release, said it is working with a third party to address the computer issue and the store will remain closed indefinitely until it is fixed. The retailer said there is no reason to believe customer or employees' data has been impacted.
People who need prescriptions that are registered at the Prince George store can still go to the store to pick them up, but the store is closed and they will not be allowed to enter the premises.
The Citizen has reached out to store manager Christian Schenk for comment but he deferred to the corporate office.
London Drugs is based in Richmond and has 50 stores in British Columbia.
