Update: Power's back on after lunchtime outage affects hundreds in Prince George

The power has been restored to 152 customers at the 4400 block Glenshee Road following a power outage shortly before noon.  

B.C. Hydro had previously restored power to an area west of Harper Drive of University Way, north of 22 Avenue and south of Parsnip Crescent that has affected 772 customers, and 22 customers on East Central Street. 

The cause of the lunchtime outages is still under investigation. 

The Prince George Aquatic Centre, which is located in the affected area, also closed for the day shortly after the outage occurred. The pool is scheduled to reopen tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. 

12:46 p.m.

The power has been restored to hundreds of customers in an area west of Harper Drive, east of University Way, north of 22 Avenue and south of Parsnip Crescent.

The outage affected 772 customers and occurred shortly before noon.  While the cause is still under investigation B.C. Hydro has everyone back up and running. 

Power has also been restored for 22 customers on East Central Street. 

However, the power is still out at 4400 block Glenshee Road affecting 152 customers but B.C. Hydro expects to have it restored around 1 p.m. 

The Prince George Aquatic Centre has also closed for the day following the outage. The Aquatic Centre is tentatively scheduled to re-open tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. 

11:58 a.m.

Power went out for hundreds of people in Prince George this morning just before noon.

B.C. Hydro has reported the outage covers an area west of Harper Drive, east of University Way, north of 22 Avenue and south of Parsnip Crescent. It started at 11:58 a.m.

The outage is affecting 772 customers and the cause is currently under investigation.

The power is also out at the 4400 block Glenshee Road affecting 152 customers, and the 1700 block East Central Street affecting 22 customers.

B.C. Hydro has crews on-site at all locations and power is estimated to be restored at 1 p.m.
