Maclean's best communities in Canada sees Prince George ranked in top 200

Prince George has an amazing community with too many benefits to count, but the city has been noticed as one of the best in Canada. 

Maclean's Magazine composed a list of the top 400-plus communities in the country (excluding territories) with a large amount of data used in their methodology.

So where did Prince George come in? They've been ranked number 191 out of the 415 listed. 

The magazine also listed each communities' top three features. 

Prince George's first top feature is listed as amenities, followed up by taxes and affordability respectably.

There were the following categories that each community could be listed under, which were used to compile the rankings: 

  • Wealth and economy 
  • Affordability 
  • Demographics 
  • Taxes
  • Commute
  • Crime
  • Weather
  • Health
  • Amenities
  • Culture and community 

While recognized in the overall rankings, Prince George was not listed in any of the additional data including for families, for retirement, best weather and affordable homes. 

The highest B.C. community on the list at number six was Salmon Arm with its top features listed as taxes, demographics, and wealth and economy. 

The lowest of B.C. on the rankings was Langley at number 366. 

Out of the nation, Burlington, Ont. came in at number one with their top feature being amenities followed by crime and culture and community. 

So who came in last of the rankings?

Mountain View County, Alta. whose top features were taxes followed by culture and community and affordability.
