Prince George RCMP are on the lookout for a man well known to the police and courts who allegedly escaped arrest by running his vehicle into two police officers.

Justin Edward Pawluck, 37, is described as 183 cm (6’0”) tall and weighing 89 kg (196 lbs) with brown hair and hazel eyes.

A warrant for his arrest has been issued in relation to the alleged December 6 incident during a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Lansdowne Road. Suspecting Pawluck was a prohibited driver, one officer approached the vehicle to speak with the driver. But the vehicle sped up and the officer was struck in the arm with the side mirror.

A second RCMP officer maneuvered his police vehicle in an attempt to block the suspect from leaving the area and the police vehicle was struck by the fleeing vehicle. Neither member sustained serious injury. The vehicle was found abandoned a short time later.

Pawluck has been charged with dangerous driving, fleeing police and two counts each of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and assaulting a peace officer with intent to resist arrest.

Pawluck is considered violent and should not be confronted, RCMP said. Instead, call police at 250-561-3300.

Those with information on where he may be can also anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477 or online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca.

Pawluck was last in the news in May 2019 when he was arrested and charged following a shots fired incident in the Hart. He was subsequently sentenced in September to 18 months probation for two counts of possessing a firearm contrary to an order. He had been in custody for 308 days by that point.
