The body of missing teen Bryce Reilly Gray was found Saturday under 55 feet of water in Tchesinkut Lake after a four day search.

Terrace Search and Rescue found the 17-year-old Burns Lake boy using sonar and underwater camera on Saturday. Gray's body was recovered by the RCMP dive team on Sunday.

"It certainly is a tragedy," said Staff Sgt Grant MacDonald of the Burns Lake RCMP.

Gray went missing Tuesday evening after heading out for a fishing trip and by Wednesday his boat was found empty and with the motor missing.

MacDonald said that motor has not been found.

MacDonald reminded people to wear life jackets when on the water.

"As is similar in other drownings around the province, we encourage the public to certainly enjoy the outdoors including boating and those types of activities but to ensure if you're going out on a boat that you have all the safety equipment that is necessary on a boat.

"It's one thing to have a (Personal Flotation Device) but to wear it as well," MacDonald said.

Burns Lake Search and Rescue, The BC Conservation Services, Ministry of Forests, RCMP Air Services, Victim Services, Police Dog Services and several community volunteers all helped with the extensive search of Tchesinkut Lake and the surrounding area.
