An outbuilding was destroyed by fire in the Moccasin Flats homeless encampment on Lower Patricia Boulevard on Thursday afternoon.
Prince George Fire Rescue crews responded at 2:46 p.m. and discovered a four metre by four metre building engulfed in flames.
Two halls attended and for ease of access the fire was attacked from Upper Patricia Boulevard to prevent further spread of fire up the hillside to the nearby neighbourhood.
The fire was quickly contained, and no surrounding structures were damaged.
The fire appeared to be started by an unregulated heating appliance.
