A mudslide has closed a road off of Highway 97 just north of Williams Lake today (March 30).
Drive BC reports the slide and embankment failure has taken out a large section of Soda Creek-MacAlister Road, about 10 km from its junction with the highway.
The route is closed in both directions as a result with no detour available.
B.C.'s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says geotechnical engineers will assess the scene.
While there's no estimate on when the road may reopen, Drive BC says its next update is set for Friday (April 3) at Noon.
