Marilyn Monroe was known to turn many heads and capture hearts when the spotlight was on her in the early 20th century.
Today, a Prince George woman continues to dazzle the entertainment world with her impersonation of the iconic American actress and has once again earned another award for her performances.
Kat Fullerton is now a multi-award winner after claiming the title as Canada’s ‘Master of Amazement’ in the 2020 Burlypicks Solid Gold Competition.
She says she feels amazed to be honoured by Burlypicks, which is said to be the world’s largest international Burlesque and Variety Performance competition.
“I’m thrilled and humbled to be in such good company with all the other incredibly talented competitors and winners,” Fullerton tells PrinceGeorgeMatters.
The national honour comes four months after winning her first-ever award for mimicking Ms. Monroe, which just so happened to be an international nod in the ‘Classic Crooner’ category at the 2020 Reel Awards in Las Vegas.
Fullerton has been part of Foxxie Follies burlesque for a number of years and several other members of the local troupe also took home some hardware.
“I found an unexpected home in the world burlesque thanks to Sasparilla Foxx and The Foxxie Follies,” adds Fullerton.
“We have so much world class talent in our own backyard, and I hope once live shows are back up and running that everybody will be as excited to get out and support live theatre as we are to get back up on stage.”
Sasparilla Foxx won gold in the ‘Best Overall’ category of Canada’s 2020 Burlypicks, as well as ‘Master of Collaboration’ with Huddley Stungwell.
