UPDATE: B.C. Hydro restores power to two Prince George areas

B.C. Hydro has now restored power to over 800 customers west of Prince George.

A morning motor vehicle accident caused the outage shortly after 8 a.m. today (July 19) for residents living south of Nechako Road and west of Ospika Boulevard in the Miworth area.

According to the company website, power was restored at 12:38 p.m.

About 90 minutes earlier, crews restored power to nearly 1,600 B.C. Hydro customers in the Hart region of the city.

The cause of that outage is listed as 'other.'

11 a.m.

B.C. Hydro has reportedly restored power to nearly 1,600 of its customers north of Prince George.

The outage remains under investigation after the outage ended at 10:59 a.m. this morning (July 19).

However, a second power outage has taken place west of the city.

A motor vehicle incident is the cause of this incident that's affecting over 800 customers stretching from south of Nechako Road to west of Ospika Boulevard including Miworth.

9:50 a.m.

B.C. Hydro is investigating a current power outage in a large portion of the Hart region this morning (July 19).

According to the company's website, close to 1,600 customers living north of the John Hart Bridge in Prince George are in the dark due to an unknown cause.

Crews have been assigned as of 9:30 a.m.

The outage is affecting customers in the area west of Shelley Road, east of Driftwood Road, and north of Prince George Pulp Mill Road.
