Northern Cancer Control Strategy has launched a new web site so patients and residents in northern B.C. can learn more about cancer services and programs offered across the region.

The web site is at www.northerncancerstrategy.ca and residents can also learn more through a new NCCS Facebook site.

"As the Northern Cancer Control Strategy works to improve cancer care in the North and bring services closer to home, this new web site will help connect patients and their families with basic information and cancer programs that are available for them in the North," said Shirley Bond, Prince George-Valemount MLA.

The web site features information on different services of the cancer care continuum, as well as key support areas provided by Northern Health and the BC Cancer Agency. They include prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, patient support, telehealth, recruitment, patient navigation, and aboriginal health.

The Facebook site provides information about the latest developments in cancer care services for Northern BC, as well as ongoing information about strategy initiatives. The site can be found at www.facebook.com/northerncancerstrategy.
