The liquor control and licensing branch imposed 72 penalties on establishments across B.C. over seven months up to the end of November, according to the branch's latest update, but none were against pubs, bars and restaurants in Prince George.

That's an improvement over the four penalties issued between April 1, 2009 and March 31, 2010.

Over that period, Alpine Pub's licence was suspended for six days for permitting an intoxicated person to remain at the premise, Shooters liquor store was fined $1,000 for selling liquor to a special occasion licenced event, Tabor Arms was issued a five day suspension for overcrowding and Treasure Cove Casino was fined $5,000 for allowing liquor consumption past the permitted time.
