The Northern Capitals took on the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers in the second of two weekend games between the two teams on Sunday morning in Kin 2 in B.C. Elite Hockey League Female U18AAA action. The Capitals managed to hold off a late offensive burst from the Lakers and the buzzer sounded on a 3-2 final score for the Caps.
Maria Arye, Saraha Prestmo, and Keira Vermeulen were the goal scorers for the Capitals while Karing ton Mollin, and Tyra Rocha scored for the Lakers. Karsyn Niven earned the win between the pipes for the Northern Capitals while Chelsea West was in net for Thompson-Okanagan.
On Saturday night's game, the Capitals defeated the Lakers by a score of 6-0 with Sierra Eagles earning the shut-out. Keagan Goulet, Maria Arye, and Brooklyn Hutchings all scored a pair of goals apiece in the victory.
With the weekend wins the Northern Capitals record sits a 7-4-0-1 for 15 points, while the Lakers record falls to 6-6-0-0 for 12 points.
The Northern Capitals next games are Friday, November 5 at 6:45 p.m. in Kin 1, Saturday, November 6 at 6 p.m. in Kin 2, and Sunday, November 7 at 8:15 a.m. in Kin 1. All three games will be against the Vancouver Island Seals who sit 5 points back of the Capitals in the standings.
