Serengeti Resources and the Takla Lake First Nation have signed a exploration access agreement for the company's Kwanika gold and copper project northwest of Prince George.

Serengeti Resources and the Takla Lake First Nation have signed a exploration access agreement for the company's Kwanika gold and copper project northwest of Prince George.

The exploration project, about a five-hour drive from from Prince George, is located 120 north of Fort St. James.

The agreement covers all exploration and related activities on the Kwanika property until the Vancouver-based company makes a decision to enter the mining permit application process.

"We are very pleased to have reached this point in our relationship with Takla Lake," said Serengeti president and CEO David Moore. "It has been very important to us from the outset of exploration on the property, that local communities support our endeavours."

Takla Lake First Nation chief Dolly Abraham said her community has a policy of requiring all companies operating in their territory to work out respectful agreements. "Serengeti from the very beginning has been very proactive in seeking out a relationship with us, which is very important."
